Since Mudvayne isn't coming to Canada I'm driving to the States to see them. Also to shop, before the new border regulations go into affect this summer. Luckily the drive to Fargo isn't too long. It's too bad the American dollar has risen against the Canadian dollar since last year's summer.
ya ive got to snowshoe to the local trading post and trade my beaver pelts for shiny american quarters...
america is so paranoid about terrorists that Canadians will need their passport to get in the states after june of this year, whether its by land, air or water.
I disagree with the requirements of passports between Mexico, the U.S., and Canada. So long as NAFTA is still good, so should boarder crossing, esp by land and water.
All the same, I can see why it's going to be required. If passports weren't so expensive and time consuming to get, I'd have one already.

How are they time consuming? It took me 5 days to get mine and I waited in a 10 minute line. I didn't even pay to expedite it or anything. I didn't even have my birth certificate and it took 5 minutes and $10 to get a copy.
I will agree, however, that they are a bit pricey. If they are such a huge requirement, you'd think they make them cheaper. I know it cost money to produce them and their are laborers to pay etc, but it would be nice if they were cheaper.
I have to like, mail my birth certificate to my state capital. It's a three to five month process. That three is for the really organized no bumbs along the way timing.
Does it differ from state to state? I would think it's a federal document, it would be the same for each state.
I don't want to trust the US post office with my birth certificate!!!
i think it takes close to half a year in canada to get your passport renewed or made. it sucks, especially since people who never needed are going to need a passport soon, which will clog up the system and will probably result in a year long wait to get one...
