yeah i know.... but i'd still like mudvayne to release ALL their demos on a disc, i mean this is a good one.... what else have we missed out on... even that internal primates forever demo tape sounds even better than the track on ld50
OK, I see your point. Yeah, they could make BTPFTP a pure demo album and cut the crappy intros. Plus a lot of the live versions were from All Access to All Things DVD.
yeah they were good, maybe in time - love to see another cover like what we saw in king of pain.... btw quick question, how populated is this forum on any given day???
Most bands get ripped to shreds once they enter into the studio. After a few "professional" sessions they get addicted to the sparkly freshness of being a studio band versus being a live band. That plus the fact that most producers don't know jack squat about really capturing the energy that a band brings means that demos are usually better sounding. All they do is record hot and add a bunch of compression and equalizers, turning the music into what has come to be known as digital sausage. Don't know what digital sausage is then just open up an audio editing program such as Audition and open up Dig and then open up something like Sunshine of Your Love by Cream. Note the difference between the two files. Also note how Dig clips something horrible. Terrible production mixed with only semi-talented folks equals bands like Mudvayne and albums like LD50, which appear to be great albums on the surface, but once you analyze them through the eyes and ears of a music producer then you see that LD50 is a very lack luster album that does not do the band justice in what they hoped to accomplish.
