Who/What is your favorite "Shade Of Gray"

Honestly ....which shade of Chad Gray do you enjoy more...be it the seemingly physical presence of how he sounds on a certain album or song.....be it live or on a CD.....Me personally .....KuD/ChuD ... if nothing else for the presence he brings alone...without even opening his mouth you know ...you're ass is getting kicked...and you'll be back for more ASAP! Not to take away from helvis and HellYeah, I mean Vinnie paul and Chad Gray in the same fuckin band is the most musically gratifying experience for me as a MuDvAyNe fan...Chad Gray is by far the real metal king of pain.. with all due respect to everyone else ................ it just doesn't compare...never could...never will....

Personally, I really enjoy the craziness in his eyes when he is performing most usually as KuD. He still does it even way after L.D. 50. He really knows how to bring the energy when he is into it.

Well to start chad brings a whole new attitude to metal. Like you said anytime he is on stage you know whats coming before he even opens his mouth. Not taking away from the rest of the band but when you see his crazy ass stand up there and and just simply stand there you know that absolute pandamonium is coming and yes we eat sleep and breath that shit and chad is the only one that can deliver.

You make a good point. Although Chad is very much the "face" and front-man of Mudvayne, the band would just not be the same without the other members that make the unified vision in its entirety. There are four distinct personalities and four very different people on stage when they perform. It is hard to imagine the band with any other compilation.

Which makes me wonder. Has any of the band had to sit out on a performance? Does anyone know whether there has ever been a temporary replacement? I saw them in Dallas once and Matt was too sick to meet with fans but he played anyway. hmm, them some pretty "Determined" guys right there.

I dont think there has ever been a "stand in" but i dont think it would be no where near as good with anyone else that would be ALMOST like back in the Pantera days taking Dime out and stickin John 5 in for him. It would still sound ok but no where near what it actualy is.

I think Chad Grey is a god in general. He composes Captivating lyrics, and Takes many different emotions and turns them into some of our favourite songs.

i think i like the emotional part of chad. when hes on stage and you know hes poured his heart and soul into what hes doing. like when he sang nothing to gein. you rocked out until the end when you could do nothing but stand there and whatch cause you knew he was feeling every emotion in the world at that moment. its things like that, that make you understand the music a little more than just the instrumental part of things.
